Kailani Areefa, a recently appointed Master Scholar by the King of Trithus, has spent her underwater life studying artifacts of the land-dwelling enemy. To change the tides of war Kailani volunteers for an espionage mission to the surface. Tasked to find a way to end the conflict, Kailani is willing to sacrifice everything to save her people from coming destruction.

Above the waves, Halston Aelwick, Crown Princess of Veneralia, feels an irresistible pull toward the sea. Torn between her royal duties and the call of the ocean, Halston must choose where her heart truly belongs: with the people she is destined to lead or out on the open sea, where freedom and danger await.
